[DUG-TO] Drupal focused hosting recommendations

Hello fellow Drupaliens

My team is getting back into the wonderful world of Drupal site  
development and we're  wondering what the current state of Drupal- 
focused hosting looks like.

Would you recommend hosting a small sized Municipal Government  
Services site on a VPS (say Slicehost with a gb of RAM) which we can  
dedicate wholly to Drupal, or is there a good provider out there that  
has server's nicely configured for dropping Drupal onto. Or is this a  
non-issue in the Drupal world (as opposed to the Rails world)?

Price is not a huge issue, however I doubt they'll want to spend more  
than $300 / month for the amount of traffic they expect (at least  
initially there will be low traffic).


If I'm asking this question in the wrong place or wrong list, very  
sorry about that.
