[DUG-TO] Simple photo gallery setup

Hi all,

What would people suggest here as a very simple photo gallery setup?

All I need are two things:

    An area of the site where people can browse photos, based on tags;
there needs to be captions and copyright-data capability

    A block that shows a random photo from the gallery; clicking on the
photo takes you to the original entry in the gallery

The facility needs nothing beyond this; no multimedia, no animated
scrolling. The "Gallery" module seems like overkill.

I've tried the "Dynamic display block" module; it's easy to set up and
use, but it doesn't display well in IE (actually, it doesn't seem to
work at all on IE sites, only firefox).

Contributing to my unease is seeing that the Image module for V6 is
still reported to be only in alpha state.

As often happens in Drupal, there are many approaches and many available
modules. I'd like to find out here what has worked for others. Any
feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
