I second this. I've used Image on several D6 sites with no problems at
all. I was wary at first because of the alpha status, but then decided
to try it and see how it went, and I'm glad I did, because that enabled
me to finally stop building any more sites in D5.

Image 6.x may be alpha in theory, but in my experience it's more solid
than the official releases of some modules I can think of.
