I'd just like to follow up on this with the community. The event ran
wonderfully, we had three rather productive days of Drupal learning. We're
hoping to include a heaver focus on the design aspect of the workshop, as
indicated by some of our attendees, in future events.
The next event I hope to host with George Brown College will revolve around
the construction of a Drupal theme that will be contributed back to the
community via drupal.org. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this as
local Drupalers, what do you look for in a theme? Topics up for discussion
might include accessibility/semantics, layout, special features and block
regions (inner node regions, upper and lower header, fresh ideas on where to
slap-em).
I'd also like to discuss weither we should be planning on working with
Drupal 7 for the next event. I doubt Drupal 7 will be out of dev by the time
our next event rolls around (April/May), but its at the point where theme
development isn't out of the question.
If anything else that I'd like to bring up pops into my head I'll send it
along, I'll try not to clog up your inboxes too horribly.
Oh hey, one of those things now. If anyone has some time they would like to
toss back to the local community, I'll be looking at implementing
Kaltura<http://drupal.org/project/kaltura>
on http://drupaldesignworkshop.com. I'd be interested in having a chat with
anyone has experience with this module.
Thanks!
