Good morning,
For what it's worth... I took a look at the Kaltura.org site today. Well, a very brief look as the main page is a flash object that is completely inaccessible to the blind on any operating system. I also took a look at the Kaltura demo sandbox, which i got to through the Kaltura Drupal module page. I was actually happy to find that the Tutorial video was presented in a flash object that is accessible to blind users on Windows (although it would not be accessible to blind users on any other operating system). Unfortunately it didn't appear as any of the other videos on the site (I took a look at the Playlist page) were accessible to blind users on any OS.
When I say "blind users" I mean users of screen-readers. When I say "not accessible" I mean there were no UI controls exposed to control the playing of the video, including the all so important "Stop". Very annoying to land on a web page as a screen-reader user and to have audio start playing, meaning that I can't hear anything being read by my screen-reader until I figure out how to stop the audio. I normally stop the audio by pressing the 'back' button and never returning to the page.
Thanks,
Everett Zufelt

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this as local Drupalers, what do you look for in a theme? Topics up for discussion might include accessibility/semantics, layout, special features and block regions (inner node regions, upper and lower header, fresh ideas on where to slap-em).

Anyone looking to attend or help organise the event please contact me at this email with your qualifications/interests. We have a maximum registration of about 30 at this point, so the sooner I get an idea of the demand the better (we might be able to expand, but the sooner the better).

Over two days I basically introduced them to Drupal, PHP, and MySQL and it was a lot of fun. I'd like to do it again, and this is my point.
